Kids and adults alike can enjoy the summer heat with these tasty treats! These creamsicles are very easy to prepare and make a fun project for the kids.

Type of dish: Kids

Equipment: Masher or immersion blender, popsicle containers with sticks

Servings: Makes large batch of popsicles

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. strawberries, chopped
  • 2 oranges
  • 16 oz full fat yogurt (if purchasing, check for no added ingredients other than milk and cultures)
  • dash vanilla

Directions:

  1. Squeeze the juice of the 2 oranges through a fine strainer (to catch the seeds) into a bowl.
  2. Add most of the strawberries, reserving about 5 berries worth for the next step.
  3. Using a masher or immersion blender, mash or puree the strawberries.
  4. Add the vanilla, yogurt, and chunks of unmashed strawberries. Mix it well with a spoon, or have a little helper join in to mix and pour.
  5. Pour into popsicle molds of your choice, insert sticks, and freeze for a few hours or overnight.

Enjoy!

  1. Making right now! Can’t wait for the kids to try them. I’m using Goats Milk yogurt Bc of my son’s dairy allergy.

    • Yes! I often blend frozen berries and heavy cream in a blender, pour into popsicle molds and it works beautifully!

  2. We use an electic ice cream maker to make frozen yogurt (in 25 minutes) using very similar ingredients along with honey. Just google “SCD frozen yogurt” and you’ll discover a ton of delicious variations. And ditto on the relief at being able to serve this instead of the store bought frozen yogurts having questionable ingredients.

  3. Those look great! We love to make “fat pops” with coconut milk, avocado, coconut oil and blueberries. My 18mo LOVES them.

  4. Perfect! I bought popsicle molds a few days ago and they’ve been sitting empty on the counter while I’ve been looking for some Paleo-friendly popsicle ideas. Thanks! 🙂

  5. I know it says for kids but this sounds really good! It’s going to be real hot tomorrow here in Ohio which I think will make for the perfect time to try!
