Phyllis J Gee, MD, FACOG

Phyllis J. Gee, MD, FACOG, has a progressive medical practice at Health Central Women’s Care in Frisco, Texas, where she provides innovative gynecologic care with an emphasis on women’s health and wellness. She also focuses on prevention and patient education. Dr. Gee provides a full range of gynecologic care to thousands of women, including performance of specialized advanced gynecologic minimally invasive surgery. She has special interests in nutrition and weight management, menopause management, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and adolescent gynecology.

As the founder and medical director of the North Texas Uterine Fibroid Institute, Dr. Gee was involved in clinical trials and practitioner training on MR-Guided Focused Ultrasound surgery of uterine fibroids. She has conducted clinical research extensively on uterine fibroids, including recently approved SONATA, which provides a minimally invasive treatment option for women with uterine fibroids. As an avid and experienced researcher, she has presented and served as principal investigator for numerous pharmaceutical and medical device clinical trials.

Dr. Gee earned her bachelor of science degree in nutrition from Cornell University. She is a graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Gee began her medical career serving in the National Health Service Corps as a member of the faculty of Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and as attending physician at Harlem Hospital Center. After relocating to Dallas, Dr. Gee worked for a large staff-model HMO before establishing her private practice. She has been actively involved in raising awareness and helping educate her peers, currently serving as a speaker for AbbVie Inc. She has previously served as speaker for Ferring Pharmaceuticals and Insightec. As a national speaker for Myriad Lab, Dr. Gee presented to colleagues about hereditary cancer syndromes with her personal focus on hereditary breast, ovarian, and colon cancer.

As founder and medical director of Willowbend Health & Wellness, a Functional and integrative medical practice in Plano, Texas, Dr. Gee now also provides integrative health services to men, women, and adolescents, utilizing Functional Medicine principles to uncover root causes of disease and offering alternatives to conventional treatment options. This is accomplished by utilizing comprehensive diagnostic and lab testing along with a thorough history and timeline with a focus on the patient’s whole health. The practitioners combine herbal and botanical therapies and, when necessary, conventional medical care with Functional Medicine and other integrative modalities to facilitate the healing process. This care is rooted in a comprehensive approach that combines both physical, mental-emotional, and lifestyle medicine.

Dr. Gee is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is a member of the Dallas County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. Dr. Gee has been actively involved in several hospitals and civic and community organizations throughout her career. She is married with one daughter. In her free time, she spends time furthering her education, volunteering, and traveling.
